Post-Super Bowl Eagles Mock Draft

Now that the Eagles season is over, we can now shift our priorities to the NFL Draft. The Eagles are in a very unique position. They just lost the Super Bowl, but they also will be picking in the top 10. The Eagles have some holes in their offense and defense and will lose some guys to free agency. We still are unsure who will leave and who will stay, but that does not mean we still can't have a quick mock draft.

10. Christian Gonzalez CB Oregon

I know many Eagles fans are not happy with James Bradberry. Forget about that bad holding call in the Super Bowl, but he had a fantastic season. His year was so good, he will get a very nice pay day. The Eagles are expected to part ways instead of paying him. Gonzalez fits the build for an NFL CB and has great instincts. He will be a top CB in this year's draft. There are many top CB's at the top of this year's draft. Ultimately it will come down to who is left on the board and who fits the defense the best. His freak athleticism is what attracts me very much to this pick.

30. Nolan Smith DE Georgia

I think the Eagles should build a Georgia to Philly pipeline. Smith was the defensive leader on the Bulldogs defense in 2022. His season came to an end with a pectoral injury, but his leadership on the sidelines was some of the best we have ever seen. The Eagles will lose Brandon Graham eventually and Derek Barnett is a free agent, this will allow Smith some early playing time. Even though he weighs in at 235 lbs, he is crazy quick and still great strength. If he is available at 30, I think Howie has to make the call.

62. Kayshon Boutte WR LSU

Quez Watkins is not WR3 on this team. Boutte is versatile WR that will continue to expand the Eagles offense. There are some other areas of concerns other than WR but adding Boutte in the 3rd round is a steal. I like the idea that the Eagles continue to add weapons. Many of the top teams have 2 very strong CB's. By adding a 3rd WR, this will help expand our offense and will continue to give Jalen as much help as possible.

94. Noah Sewell LB Oregon

The Eagles are going to take a hit on defense. Even though a good amount of the core will return, there are many guys on 1 year or expiring contracts. After the season many Eagles players had, they are going to get big pay days. Sewell's pass rushing ability at a much cheaper price should make Eagles fans happy. Kyzir White is expected to play elsewhere in 2023 and Nakobe Dean never seemed to get the snaps, Sewell will provide the position we have never been deep at some much-needed depth.

221 Trevor Reid OT Louisville

Reid is a work in progress and is not going to be ready day 1. However, we have Jeff Stoutland! He is one of the better athletes in this draft at his position. He will need to improve his mechanics, but like I said, we have Jeff Stoutland!

250. Dorian Thompson-Robinson QB UCLA

Jalen Hurts is the clear starter in 2023 (if you don't think so, I am sorry you are blind,) the Eagles will need to look for a back-up. Gardner Minshew is a free agent and Ian Book is a nice QB3. The Eagles could look to get a very athletic QB and a much cheaper option in the draft.

This draft is very unique. We start off very strong with 2 first round picks, but only 4 picks in rounds 2-7. I can't see a scenario where Howie makes no moves, and we stick to these picks. The Eagles have the will power to make another run at the Super Bowl in 2023. In some ways we can make that push through the draft.
