Chris Kuper Takes Over Eagles’ Offensive Line After Stoutland

Chris Kuper

The Philadelphia Eagles have officially named Chris Kuper their new offensive line coach, filling the massive shoes left by the departure of legendary Eagles assistant coach Jeff Stoutland. Kuper spent the last four seasons as the offensive line coach for the Minnesota Vikings, where his units hovered around the middle of the league in performance — ranking roughly 12th in 2022, 12th in 2023, and sliding to around 18th in both 2024 and 2025, according to Pro Football Focus metrics — and in 2025 the Vikings also struggled with one of the league’s highest sack totals allowed, partly due to injuries up front.   While those rankings don’t leap off the page, they reflect a coach who has experience working with both young and veteran personnel and navigating the ups and downs of NFL trenches, something the Eagles hope will translate into consistency in Philadelphia.

Replacing him is no small task: Jeff Stoutland’s legacy in Philly is nothing short of remarkable. Over 13 seasons with the Eagles, Stoutland earned a reputation as one of the NFL’s elite offensive line teachers, helping to develop a unit that churned out Pro Bowls and All‑Pro honors and was a cornerstone of multiple deep playoff runs, including a Super Bowl victory.   His nickname “Stoutland University” among players spoke to his ability to unlock talent and cohesion in the trenches, and his departure leaves big expectations for Kuper as he steps into a role where excellence has been the standard. With a blend of fresh perspective and respect for what came before, Kuper now has the chance to build on one of the league’s most respected offensive lines.
