Week 2 Key Matchups: Rams-Eagles

(Photo: Kirby Lee/USA Today Sports)

The 0-1 Eagles have the 1-0 Rams and some tough matchups ahead this weekend.

DT Aaron Donald V. Eagles IOL

The Disasterous performance of the Eagles offensive line Sunday let up 8 sacks and had Wentz seeing ghosts it seemed in the second half. It doesn’t get any easier with All-Pro Aaron Donald coming to town. Donald will be lining up in multiple sets but mostly on the interior 3 guys of (Seumalo, Kelce, and Herbig). The one positive is in 3 games against the Eagles Donald hasn't registered a sack and his Rams are 0-3. This game may be different without Brandon Brooks who usually would be in there, 2nd year pro Nate Herbig (PFF 77.4 Pass-Protection Grade- best among Eagles OL Sunday) and had some flashes and will have his hands full with Donald.

CB Darius Slay V. WR Cooper Kupp

Darius Slay was as advertised Sunday holding Terry McLaurin (who torched Philadelphia 10-255-2 in 2019) to 2 catches on 50 man to man snaps, Slay will be up against a newly paid Cooper Kupp (94-1161-10 in 2019). Slay will have his hands full but has shown what a lockdown corner can do for the Defense.

Eagles TE V. Rams LB/S

Dallas Goedert (8-101-1) and Zach Ertz (3-18-1) are matchup nightmares for defenses and Carson focused on them early week 1. They are vital to the offense opening the the middle and against LA who lost ILB Cory Littleton to Vegas and are relying on young backers (Micah Kiser and Troy Reeder). Rams Safeties John Johnson, Taylor Rapp and Jordan Fuller will have their hands full Sunday.
