Under the Radar Player: Aakiel Greer.

Back in May, I did a Player Review on Aakiel Greer. Greer is one of the most underrated players in the Free Agency pool, and deserves a chance to play in the NFL.

Greer graduated from Saint Augustine's University in 2021, and has played for a handful of IFL teams. He has also had a pro-tryout with the Raiders.

Aakiel Greer played for the Wichita Regulators of the Indoor Football League this past season. He put up a monstrous 601 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns on only 41 receptions. Greer is a speedy but physical receiver coming in at 6'4, 200 pounds. He can attack the defense with speed and elusiveness running a 4.51 40-Yard Dash but also on any jump balls with his 38 inch vertical.

In my last article on Greer, I mentioned the awards Greer has had in college, which are listed below:

2x All CIAA

2019 SSPS 2nd Team All-American

Greer also was invited and attended the 2021 HBCU Pigskin Showdown, 2021 FCS Bowl, 2022 Tropical Bowl and was a 2022 CGS participant.

Aakiel's stats from 2019-22:

43 catches, 14 TDs, 867 Yards

Q/A with Aakiel Greer

Question: What would it mean for you to get to the NFL?

Greer: It would mean everything to make it the NFL, it would truly be a blessing.

Question: What player inspired you, or did you look up to growing up?

Greer: I didn't grow up just liking one receiver. With me being a bigger and taller bodied receiver, I modeled my game after Randy Moss, Calvin Johnson and Terrell Owens.

Question: What's your best skillset?

Greer: My best skillset is my size. Being tall and fast, I feel that I have an advantage that most receivers don't. My jumping ability along with my route running makes me uncoverable at 6'4, 200LBs.

Greer also states that he would love to be a potential addition to the Eagles, if giving the opportunity. Greer is a fellow Mississippi native along with Eagles star AJ Brown.

Greer would not only love a shot with the Eagles, but any NFL team, in which he deserves. Greer is one of the most physical and elusive receivers coming out of the IFL, and it is only a matter of time until he is wearing the NFL patch on a jersey.
