The Philadelphia Eagles are less than two weeks away from their week 1 showdown with their NFC East rival, the Washington Football Team and the story so far this bizarre offseason has been the mounting amount of injuries... well there is another one to add.

The Eagles announced on Wednesday that newly acquired safety Will Parks will be out of action "multiple weeks" with a lower body injury, reportedly a hamstring. Reports say timetable for his return is "4-6 weeks." The former sixth round pick of the Denver Bronco signed a one-year deal this offseason and was in line for significant playing time as the 3rd safety and help replace the loss of former leader Malcolm Jenkins. Parks has shown in camp to take on that role in Jim Schwartz's defense of not only being able to play a big part in coverage but up at the line often in that hybrid role to be a factor in the run game

The 6'1" 194 pound defensive back started 15 games(62 games played) in 4 seasons with Denver where he recorded 149 combined tackles, 4 interceptions, 13 pass deflections, and 2 force fumbles.

The Eagles likely safety trio for at least the first month of the season will be a declining Rodney McCleod, Jalen Mills, who they brought back to convert from cornerback to Safety, and either 2nd year player Marcus Epps or this year's 4th round pick K'Von Wallace. McCleod is the only one of those three to make any starts at the safety position. And Schwartz has continued to say it's difficult for rookie linebackers and safeties to adjust from college to the Pros so likely see more Epps in there to ease the transition for Wallace. Luckily for the Eagles they will face QB Dwayne Haskins week 1 and lackluster Washington offense to figure things out.
