We are less than one week away from the start of the Fantasy Football season. At this point most people have completed their drafts (if not, its happening this weekend). It is now time to look at the waiver wires for players that could help your team now. I have compiled my top 3 free-agents that are available in a lot of leagues that could help your team.... or at least be solid bench pieces for the always inconvenient injury that will happen (this season more than most).
I have based these names off of stats compiled from ESPN Fantasy numbers.
-Sony Michel: NE RB owned in 45% of leagues.... With news of Lamar Miller now being cut by the Patriots, Michel is firmly entrenched as the lead runner in the backfield for Cam Newton and company. The offense is going to be a lot different this year without Tom Brady in town. So stashing him on your bench until we figure out who is getting what touches is a must.
-Jack Doyle: IND TE owned in just 38.9% of leagues... Most people ignore the tight end position if they do not land one of the top 3 or 4 guys. Doyle will no longer be sharing the TE position with Eric Ebron. He is the clear cut #1 option in Indy and we all know Philip Rivers loves to throw to the TE. Grab him now before he breaks out on someone else's roster.
-Randall Cobb: Hou WR owned in 20.6% of leagues... Cobb is headed to Houston this season. With Deandre Hopkins out of Houston, there will be a lot of balls to go around. Even in a crowded Wide Receiver group in Dallas last season, he proved to be a solid fantasy option all year long. He is a great bye week add or injury replacement to stash for those needed weeks.
-Other names to keep in mind for the coming weeks (or at least to add to your watch list): Denzel Mims,Alshon Jeffrey, Phil-p Rivers, and Bryce love.
Good luck in week 1!
