Chris Romanelli's 2020 Bank on Being Wrong Predictions

Chris Romanelli Predictions

Eagles 11-5 First in the NFC East #3 Seed in the NFC

After 2 straight 9-7 finishes I am seeing a stronger season for the Eagles. Head Coach Doug Pederson will be the first coach to lead back to back NFC East titles since Coach Reid back in the early part of the decade. Since Coach P is the only return coach in the division in a shortened offseason, I expect the Eagles to be the most prepared team early on and take advantage of that. They have a mid season stretch of games with San Fran, Baltimore and Pittsburgh which could define their season. If they go 2-1 there, a 1-2 seed could be possible.

MVP: Patrick Mahomes. The only thing keeping Mahomes from winning last year was his knee injury. The Super Bowl MVP with his new contract is still getting better, and we will see another stellar performance from the best player in the league.

ROY:This might sound like a homer pick….well, it sorta is but I am going with Jalen Reagor. The Eagles have not had productive wide out play from a rookie wideout since D-Jax and Maclin. This year will be different. If the Eagles offense stays healthy, and with this team that is a big if Reagor shadowing Jackson will bring out the best in the rookie. Chase Young the best pure player in the draft will make a strong push, but Reagor will edge him out.

DPOY: Heading into his 2nd season the reigning Rookie of the Year and Defensive Rookie of the year is about to take his place atop the NFL’s defensive rankings. Bosa just brings it. He isn’t flashy and he is surrounded by talent on the 49ers defense. As the defending NFC Champs the 49ers will be in the spotlight. Bosa will shine the brightest

The contenders

In the NFC East

it is a 2 team race. A lot of people like Mike McCarthy as coach in Dallas. I am not one of them. The team has talent but I think McCarthy will be Garrett 2.0. The Eagles will take the division once again in 2020 with Dallas getting a wildcard

NFC North

Minnesota is the deepest team, but the have Kirk Cousins. Green Bay. Do they bounce back after getting whopped in the playoffs. Is this Rogers last run. Chicago picked Mitchell over Foles….and Detroit, will it’s the Lions. I will pick Green Bay in the most boring division in the NFC.

The NFC West

The Best division in football period: Will the 49ers bounce back after having a 10 point 4th quarter lead in the Super Bowl. I don’t think so. The Wilson lead Seahawks will win the West and the Number 1 Seed…..BUT with No crowd noise to lean on….1 and Done playoff appearance

The NFC Central

The Buccaneers……nope not going to pick them to win the Division in 2020! This team has a little Eagles Dream Team written on them for me. The exception is the GOAT. He won’t let them fall to far behind. That leave the division winner for me as the Saints with Drew Brees squeaking out the division title

AFC East

The Patriots have dominated the division since Tom Hanks was left abandoned with Wilson on a remote Island….well if he came back this year, same as ever the Patriots win the division. Coach hoodie will show he is still best in the business and eek out a division title over Buffalo. This is the one pick that I feel could totally blow up on me and the Pats could easily implode as well

AFC North

No way Lamar Jackson has the MVP season of 2019. That being said he will still be very very good. The rest of the division is meh. Baltimore easily wins it

AFC West

Best Player on the Super Bowl Champions resides in the division. This team was the 2 seed in 2019 and miss Mahomes for a part of the year. Healthy and eager to make it back to the Super Bowl, the Chiefs stumble a little but still win the division.

AFC Central

Another division with no life in it. The Titans have the best defense and an upcoming coach in Vrabel. DeShaun Watson is the best QB with arguably the worst coach/GM in the Central. Philip Rivers is weird looking in a Colts uniform. Jacksonville is taking up space. I will go with coaching and Defense with the Titans
